About How in Czech

How in Czech is an independent website with practical information about visiting Prague and exploring the Czech Republic.

The website helps tourists and expats understand how things work in Czechia. You can find simple guides about public transport, train travel, tickets, money, shopping, Czech culture, day trips, and everyday life.

Why I Created How in Czech

My name is Olha, and I have lived in Czechia since September 2019.

When I first arrived, many ordinary things felt confusing. It was not always easy to understand transport rules, ticket systems, payments, public holidays, or information written only in Czech.

Over time, I learned how these systems work. I created How in Czech to share that experience and make Czechia easier to understand for other international visitors and residents.

What You Can Find Here

How in Czech provides practical guides for:

  • Traveling around Prague by metro, tram, and bus
  • Using trains and regional transport
  • Buying and validating tickets
  • Understanding Czech money and payment methods
  • Visiting towns, castles, and other destinations
  • Shopping and managing everyday situations
  • Discovering Czech culture and local events

The articles use simple English so they are easy to read, including for people who are not native English speakers.

How the Guides Are Prepared

Many articles are based on my personal experience of living and traveling in Czechia.

When an article includes prices, schedules, laws, or official rules, I check relevant official sources whenever possible. I also update articles when important information changes.

How in Czech is an independent website and is not an official government or transport-company website. Readers should check official sources for urgent information and recent changes.
