How to Get from Prague Airport to Český Krumlov

Getting from Prague Airport to Český Krumlov can be as simple as boarding a FlixBus outside the terminal. Some weekend services go all the way without a change. On weekdays, you can still board at the airport, but you change buses at Florenc in Prague.

If the airport bus does not fit your arrival time, you can take a bus or train from Prague, or arrange a private transfer. Below, you’ll find the routes at a glance, followed by a closer look at the FlixBus journey from the airport.

What Is the Easiest Way from Prague Airport to Český Krumlov?

For most travelers arriving by plane, I would check the FlixBus from the airport first. Even if you need to change buses at Florenc, you get off at the bus station and walk to the platform for your next bus.

If you travel to Florenc by Prague public transport, one route is bus 100 to Zličín, followed by Metro B to Florenc. You then need to leave the metro station and find Florenc Bus Station. That adds a few steps, especially when you have luggage.

Where Is the FlixBus Stop at Prague Airport?

The long-distance FlixBus stop is outside, in front of Terminal 1, beneath the elevated road toward Terminal 2. You can walk there from either terminal. The walk from Terminal 2 is a little longer, but you do not need to enter Terminal 1.

Another Good Option: Bus from Na Knížecí

RegioJet buses to Český Krumlov leave from Praha, Na Knížecí. Most journeys are direct, with departures generally about once an hour.

The simplest way to reach Na Knížecí from the airport is bus 191. It takes approximately 50 minutes and requires no changes:

  • Board bus 191 toward Na Knížecí.
  • Get off at Na Knížecí and use the pedestrian underpass to reach the RegioJet departure stops.

Another option is bus 100 and Metro B:

  • Take bus 100 from the airport to Zličín (the last stop).
  • Walk to the Metro B entrance (2 minutes) and take the metro to Anděl.
  • At Anděl, follow the signs for Na Knížecí and exit toward the bus stops.

Can You Take a Train from Prague Airport to Český Krumlov?

Yes, but you first need to travel from the airport to Prague Main Railway Station. The airport does not have a passenger train station. First, you need to go to Prague Main Railway station.

Depending on your departure, you may take a direct train (departing at 9-21) or a connection with a change at České Budějovice. At the Český Krumlov’s train station is about a 30-minute walk from the center, according to the town’s tourism office. That can feel like a long final stretch after a flight, especially with a suitcase.

If you choose rail, the main station guide helps you find your train once you arrive.

What If You Arrive Late?

Prague’s public transport continues overnight, although routes change and services run less often. You can still reach Na Knížecí, Florenc or Prague Main Station from the airport. My Prague Airport night transport guide explains how.

The harder part is continuing to Český Krumlov. Intercity buses generally stop running overnight. A train connection may appear in the journey planner, but it can involve several changes or a long wait before you reach the town.

If you land late, spending the night at or near the airport and traveling to Český Krumlov in the morning may be more comfortable.

Where Should You Get Off in Český Krumlov?

Buses may stop at Český Krumlov, Špičák and Český Krumlov, autobusové nádraží (the main bus station). Špičák is often more convenient for accommodation near Latrán and the castle. The main bus station gives you an elevated approach to the old town and is about a 10-minute walk from Svornosti Square.

The better stop depends on where you are staying, particularly if you have luggage. I compare both stops and their walks into town in my Prague to Český Krumlov guide.
